Como les dije hace poco, Corgan relanzará los álbumes de la banda a lo largo de los próximos tres años empezando por el relanzamiento de Gish, Siamese Dream y Pisces Iscariot en este Otoño.
Para todo ésto, Greg Prato de RS tuvo una charla con Billy en la que dijo que los extras que llevarán las reediciones serán algo muy significativo y selectivo, como un buen mixtape de algo que rodeaba al disco en ese entonces y que la gente que lo compró en aquel entonces no está familiarizada con: "a EMI le gustaría un disco extra de material. Creo que lo que tendría que ser es un balance entre algunos lados B que alguien que haya comprado Gish en aquellos días no haya escuchado. Quiero que sea un documento acerca de lo que rodeaba los discos, así que si tu eres un fan del disco, tendrías algo más de ese material. Pero quiero que sea realmente selectivo y no sacar cualquier cosa. Quiero que sea como un buen mixtape .si tú eres un fan de Gish, entonces el disco extra de Gish tendrá algo realmente bueno para escuchar de aquel entonces"
"What kind of bonus material will be on the upcoming reissues?EMI would like a bonus disc of material. I think what it's going to have to be is a balance between some of the better B-sides that somebody who bought Gish back in the day wouldn’t be familiar with. I want it to be a document about the materials that surrounded the records, so if you're a fan of that record, you kind of get more of that record. But I want to be really selective and not just put out anything. I want it to be almost like a nice mix tape – if you're a fan of Gish, then the Gish bonus disc would have some really cool stuff to listen to that's in that period."
Corgan dice que los fans (o sea nosotros) creemos que ya lo hemos escuchado todo y en realidad no: "hay un montón de cosas que tenemos que nadie ha escuchado".
"Will there be previously unheard songs?I've gone on some message boards to see what fans are saying, and they think they've heard everything and they haven't. There's a lot of stuff we have that no one's ever heard."
Prato hizo una pregunt aobligada más delante en la entrevista (y que seguro muchos seguidores de los Pumpkins amaría vivir para verlo): "Alguna vez se reunirá la alineación original de los Pumpkins?"... a lo que Corgan dijo "No. Eso una de esas cosas que nunca pasarán. Si no ves a alguien por mucho tiempo a alguien es algo viejo, 'La ausencia hace al corazón más cariñoso'. Bueno, no hemos estado ausentes. Las cosas que han pasado entre nosotros en este tiempo no han sido buenas. Han habido demandas y un montón de estupideces. Sólo lo han hecho peor. Si estaba mal antes, ahora está realmente mal. Jimmy y yo no somos enemigos - tan sólo está haciendo lo que quiere hacer, como debía hacerlo. No hay súper mala onda entre él y yo como para no compartir un escenario. Pero no puedo, en alguna forma, verme parado en un escenario tocando con James o D'arcy. Tan sólo no veo una situación en la que eso pueda pasar."
"Could the original Pumpkins line-up ever reunite?No. That's just one of those things that are never going to happen. If you don't see somebody for a while, there's the old thing, "Absence makes the heart grow fonder." Well, we haven't had absence. The things that have happened between us in the interim haven't been good. There's been lawsuits and lots of stupid stuff. It's only made it worse. If it was bad before, it's really bad now. Jimmy [Chamberlin] and I aren't enemies – he's just off doing what he wants to do, as he should. There's not super bad blood between me and Jimmy that we'd never get on stage again. But I cannot in any way, shape, or form ever envision standing on a stage, playing music again with James [Iha] and D'arcy [Wretzky]. I just don't see any situation where that would be possible."
